Earlier a part of the state of Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh has been a Union Territory since Aug 2019. “Ladakh” literally means “The place of Passes”.These passes are the tallest passes worldwide. The valley is one of the least populated regions in India and the gateway to the northernmost reaches of the nation.
