The adventure begins as we ride into Nagaland, leaving behind the plains of Assam and gradually climbing into scenic hill roads. The route offers a mix of smooth stretches and winding terrain through dense forests and small villages. By evening, we arrive in Mokokchung, the cultural heartland of the AO Naga tribe, where you can soak in the local vibe.
Today’s ride takes us deeper into remote Nagaland, with increasingly rugged roads and raw, untouched landscapes. This is a long and challenging day, but also one of the most rewarding as we approach Mon, home to the fascinating Konyak tribe. The region feels truly off-the-grid, offering a glimpse into a unique way of life.
We ride to Longwa village, one of the most unique places in India, located right on the India–Myanmar border. Here, you’ll visit the home of the village chief, which interestingly lies in both countries. Spend time interacting with locals and learning about the rich history and traditions of the Konyak tribe before returning to Mon by evening.
Today we transition from Nagaland into Arunachal Pradesh, entering a region known for its dramatic landscapes and pristine wilderness. The journey is long and adventurous, with changing terrain and remote stretches.
By evening, we reach Roing, a quiet and scenic town that serves as the gateway to the Dibang Valley.
This is one of the most challenging and thrilling rides of the expedition. The route to Anini takes you through rugged mountain terrain, river crossings, and landslide-prone sections. The effort is well worth it, as the journey offers breath-taking views of untouched valleys and towering mountains. We reach Anini, one of India’s most remote destinations, by evening.
After an intense ride, today is reserved for rest and recovery. You can take short walks around the village, relax by the river, or simply soak in the silence and beauty of this remote Himalayan region. It’s the perfect opportunity to slow down and experience the simplicity of life here.
Today is dedicated to exploring the region around Anini. Visit nearby villages, interact with the local Idu Mishmi community, and enjoy the raw, untouched beauty of the landscape. Whether it’s photography, nature walks, or cultural immersion, this day offers a deeper connection with the region.
We begin our journey back, retracing our path through the dramatic terrain of the Dibang Valley. Depending on road and weather conditions, we halt at Dambuk or continue onward to Roing. Though still challenging, the ride feels more relaxed as we descend from the higher, remote regions.
Today’s ride is comparatively easier as we head back to Dibrugarh via the iconic Bhupen Hazarika Setu, India’s longest river bridge. The smooth roads and open stretches offer a refreshing change after days of rugged riding. In the evening, we gather for a farewell dinner and celebrate the journey.
After breakfast, it’s time to check out and head to the airport for your onward journey.
You leave with unforgettable memories of remote landscapes, rich tribal cultures, and one of the most unique riding experiences in India.
